ADDITIONAL MESSAGES WILL BE ISSUED WHEN THE AWIPS TRANSMISSION PATH HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED AT SUCCEEDING LOCATIONS. LONG-LINE TRANSMISSION OF OBSERVATIONS FROM A SELECT GROUP OF ASOS LOCATIONS IS MOVING FROM NWS AWIPS NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PATHWAY TO FAA AUTOMATED WEATHER OBSERVING SYSTEM /AWOS/-ASOS DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM /ADAS/ NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS PATHWAY. THIS TRANSITION...SCHEDULED THROUGH 2008...INVOLVES CONNECTION OF THESE ASOSES TO THE FAA ADAS TRANSMISSION PATH FOLLOWED BY DISCONNECTION FROM THE NWS AWIPS TRANSMISSION PATH.
