BLM Invites Public Comments on Redding Field Office OHV Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Redding Field Office invites public comment on its preliminary grant application to the California State Parks Off-Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division.

The field office is requesting $249,000 in grant funds.  The cooperative agreement grant would be used to support OHV law enforcement, operations and acquisition projects at the Chappie-Shasta Off Highway Vehicle Area northwest of Redding.

The preliminary applications are available for comments and review from Tuesday, March 3, through April 6, 2009.  They can be viewed online through the OHMVR Division website at: www.ohv.parks.ca.gov.  Printed copies are also available for review at the BLM Redding Field Office, 355 Hemsted Drive, Redding.

Comments can be submitted to the OHVMR Division, 1725 23rd St., Sacramento, CA, 95816; to the BLM Redding Field Office, 355 Hemsted Dr., Redding, CA  96002; or by email to Sky_Zaffarano@blm.gov.

The BLM’s California field offices annually request OHVMR funds to help operate OHV areas and provide riding opportunities on BLM-managed public lands throughout the state.
