Low-Skill Employment and the Changing Economy of Rural America
ERS examined the relationship between employment trends and industrial and occupational shifts in rural America. Among the findings: The share of low-skill jobs in the rural employment mix fell by 2.2 percentage points between 1990 and 2000, to 42.2 percent, slower than the 5-percentage-point drop in the 1980s. Recreation, Tourism, and Rural Well-Being
