Hello, I am Manny Wei. I started my career with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (formerly known as Soil Conservation Service) in 1980, as a student trainee. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1984. Currently, I am an Engineer for Field Office District 2 located in Effingham, Illinois.

I have served on the NRCS National Civil Rights Committee between 1993-1996, and in January 1999, I was selected to be the Asian Pacific American Program Manager for NRCS in Illinois. I am also the Vice President of the Asian Pacific Islander Organization which is an employee organization.

Objectives of the Asian Pacific Islander Emphasis Program:

  • Enhance Awareness of APA issues, concerns, diversity and culture
  • Enhance recruitment efforts of APA's to diversify our workforce
  • Enhance program outreach efforts to the APA community
