Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.

    1.4.2_xx, 1.5.0, 6.0



SYMPTOMS

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installation has not completed and an error appears:

Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.



CAUSE

Error 1722 is an InstallShield error code. It indicates that the installation process has failed. The exact reason for this error is not known at this time.




SOLUTION

Possible workaround is try to download and install the offline installation package from the manual download page:

Note:
Before trying above solution, we recommend that you remove any traces of the failed JRE installation. To uninstall the JRE, follow the instructions at:
Windows uninstallation instructions


If the installation fails due to any other reason, the installer leaves a log file on system with details about the error. Please provide us the log files for further analysis of the issue. See this page for more information on how to retrieve and send the installation log files.
