International Overview
All of agriculture has become global. For example, the success of the U.S. farm sector is increasingly dependent on our ability to trade and compete with other nations. Similarly, the science of agriculture depends on international research partnerships to address national issues of food safety, sustainability, resource management, biotechnology, and crop and livestock disease prevention. Even as we consider our communities and our young people, our extension and educational programs are reflecting an international perspective, because the towns we live in are increasingly diverse, and our young people are entering a global workforce. For these reasons, CSREES supports influential innovations in campus-based, agriculture-related programs that help prepare world class students, faculty, staff, community members and business people for the 21st century.
