Purple Martin Conservation Association From Edinboro University, this organization is the leader in information about this challenging yet rewarding species. Fatal Light Awareness Program FLAP deals with the issue of bird collisions into windows and high-rise buildings, which kills millions of birds each year. Check out this site to determine if your building may be a hazard to night migrants, as well as how to alleviate the problem at both work and home. National Audubon Society Information on membership, chapters, education, and research. Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania Partners In Flight A collaboration of government agencies, nonprofits, and grassroots efforts that aim to keep common birds common. Partners include US Fish & Wildlife Service, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and many more. North American Amphibian Monitoring Program Help document declines in amphibians in your area by joining the efforts of NAAMP. Studies include frog call surveys, terrestrial salamander studies, and atlases. Also an excellent way to learn more about these critters. Also teacher and family activities.
Terrestrial Salamander Monitoring Program A part of NAAMP, this site explains the protocol as well as salamander identification. An excellent study to complement a management plan and involve the community.

Back to Top Photo by Don Dubois Pollinator Resources Wings of Wonder This partnership between TRHP, ASSET, Inc., Carnegie Science Center, and the wildlife teams of Bayer and PPG aims to educate students and community about migratory birds and butterflies. The Backyard Conservation section is divided into attracting pollinators and birds. Find native plant lists and suppliers here, as well as educational activities. Migratory Pollinators Based at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, this campaign aims to call national attention to the critical role that pollinators such as bees and butterflies play in our daily lives. This site has endless resources and links for pollinator (butterfly) gardens. North American Butterfly Association Visit this site for information on annual butterfly counts, species information, publications and more. The Bee Works Visit this site for bee boxes and other pollinator resources such as books, articles and other links. Monarch Watch Based at the Univeristy of Kansas and Universityof Minnesota, this organization is dedicated to the conservation and education of the Monarch. Join in tagging research, order butterflies or milkweed seeds, and get more information. Animal Rescue League of Western PA Wildlife Center The ARL is dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured wildlife. Always seeking volunteers! Bat Conservation International Learn all about nature's best "insecticide." Project Bat An organization that deals with bat-human issues, such as colonies in attics and gateing caves. Pennsylvania Game Commission Many resources for game and non-game species, hunting seasons, cooperative hunting programs for private landowners, and information on the Wild Resource Conservation Fund. Trout Unlimited The leader in conservation of trout and coldwater species, as well as water quality.
