Profiles in Geophysics

[Photo: USGS personnel in boat collecting data.]
USGS personnel collect continuous-resistivity profile (CRP) data on the Niantic River, Connecticut.

USGS offices across the country are integrating geophysical methods into their research and data collection activities. One mission of the USGS Office of Ground Water, Branch of Geophysics (OGW BG) is to support USGS water-resources programs by providing technical support and guidance for the use of geophysical methods for ground-water investigations. The Profiles in Geophysics are examples of how USGS offices that OGW BG has supported are using surface, borehole, and water-borne geophysical methods in their work.
