Urban, Community, and Coastal Resources Committee

The National Association of Conservation Districts' Urban, Community, and Coastal Resources Committee focuses on a broad range of conservation districts throughout the country. It tackles issues through partnerships, innovative programs, and commitment to good stewardship in urban and community surroundings.

Current initiatives include open space in the Northeast, water management in the Southeast, growth management in North Central states, water quality in South Central states, waste management in the northern Plains, forestry in the Southwest, and air quality in the Pacific. As a member of the Urban, Community, and Coastal Resources Committee, CSREES maintains an advisory role, comparing strategic plans and identifying policy issues of CSREES and the National Association of Conservation Districts that are parallel or overlap with regard to urban and community conservation goals.
