Booneville PMC Service Area MapThe area served by the Booneville PMC includes the Ozark Highland, Ozark border, Boston Mountains, Arkansas Valley and Ridges, Ouachita Mountains, and the Western Coastal Plain.

Much of the Service area is characterized by rugged terrain. Elevation ranges from 300 feet to 3,000 feet. Average annual rainfall varies from 36 inches in the west to 53 inches in the higher mountain areas in the east. Small family farms are characteristic of much of the area. Forage, poultry, and timber production are the major land uses. Soils are frequently shallow, stony and erosive. The economy of the area is supported largely by agriculture, coal mining, and tourism.
