USDA Rural Development
The USDA
Rural Development Mission Area administers
Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Rural
Housing Service, Rural Utilities Service,
and Office of Community Development programs.
CSREES partners with the Rural Development
Mission Area to provide information to Cooperative
Extension System staff about the funding it
makes available, particularly for building
facilities that could include child care
and after-school programs and for loans to
start child care and after-school businesses.
Information is also provided to local and
state Rural Development staff about the extensive
outreach capacities of the Cooperative Extension
System to refer people to the resources available
through Rural Development.
