Featured States
Overview
Starting in 2003, ARMS had expanded sampling at the State-level for 15 major
agricultural States (Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas, Washington,
and Wisconsin).
A core
set of questions
was collected by both enumerators and with self-administered questionnaires.
This supplements information elsewhere in this tool to provide a statistical
portrait of the financial status and performance of a State's farm
operators, their households, and farm businesses. For the 15 States, it provides
statistically
reliable financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and financial
ratios) and structural characteristics (such as the number, age, and years
of schooling of farm operators) for farm operator businesses and households.
Summaries can be categorized by farm typology, size of operation as measured
by sales, age of operator, and type of farm business as measured by the
primary commodities produced by the operator.
