Teresa Lasseter is the administrator of USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA). As administrator, she is responsible for overseeing the administration of farm commodity and conservation programs, farm loan programs, and certain disaster and federal crop insurance programs. She also serves as the executive vice president of the Commodity Credit Corporation, a wholly-owned government corporation with a $30 billion line of credit with the United States Department of Treasury.

Lasseter joined FSA in 1977 as a chief program assistant. She rose through the ranks, holding several management positions. Her years of experience in farm programs earned her the position of state executive director (SED) for the state of Georgia.

She served as SED for a little over a year before she was promoted to Associate Administrator for Programs in Washington, D.C. from 2003 to 2004. In that position, Lasseter was responsible for supervising and administering farm commodity programs, farm loans, conservation programs, and disaster assistance.

The governor of Georgia appointed Lasseter to the Georgia Ports Authority Board and she also served on the South Georgia Businesses for Economic Development Board.

Most recently, Lasseter served six years as the Executive Director of Tifton, Georgia's Agrirama Development Authority. The 30-year old Agrirama is an educational living history center dedicated to bringing rural life of turn-of-the-century Georgia to life.

Throughout her career, Lasseter has received recognition and numerous awards for her exemplary work. In 1991, she received the Unsung Hero Award for exemplifying the spirit of public service. An honor graduate from the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Lasseter holds a degree in Business Administration.

Lasseter and her husband, Willard, reside in Arlington, Virginia, and Moultrie, Georgia.
