Defining Stewardship
“Stewardship has been practiced since the beginning of
the seed industry…” |
|
ASTA’s Stewardship Initiative
“This guide is intended to help
smaller companies…set up their
own best practices.” |
|
Using the Guide
“…give them a framework or
structure upon which they can
build.” |
|
ASTA and BIO
“What we’re trying to do is
accomplish the same goal and
that is to establish best
management practices for the
industry.” |
|
Voluntary Participation
“Neither of these guides that
are being produced are meant to
be prescriptive…” |
|
Why Stewardship?
“Everyone does have a
stewardship program – it might
not be as defined and structured
as what we’re outlining in these
guides but everyone wants to
produce a quality product.” |
