Development of Comprehensive Drug/Alcohol and Mental Health Treatment Systems for Persons Who are Homeless
WHAT: The purpose of this program is to expand and strengthen treatment services for persons who are homeless (including those who are chronically homeless), who also have substance use disorders, mental disorders, or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders. The primary goal is to link treatment services with housing programs and other services (e.g., primary care).

Special Improvement Project (SIP) -- Using New Methods to Improve Collection Rates
WHAT: This is funding for Special Improvement Projects (SIP) which further the national child support mission, vision, and goals to ensure that all children receive financial and medical support from their parents and addresses using new technology and enforcement tools to increase child support collections.

WHAT: Funding for projects which address specific strategies listed in the grant announcement for Title IV-D Social Security Act cases to foster collaboration impacting child support enforcement and court outcomes.

Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Assessment
WHAT: Funds for new community-based activities under ANA's Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Assessment program area. Native Language Assessment grants are used to conduct the assessment necessary to identify the current status of the Native American language(s) to be addressed.
WHO: Faith-based and community organizations are eligible to apply.

Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Immersion
WHAT: funds for new community-based activities under ANA's Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Immersion program area.  Native Language Immersion grants will only be awarded to applicants that meet the Statutory requirements for immersion projects with language nests or language survival schools in accordance with P.L. 109-394.

Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Implementation
WHAT: Funds for new community-based activities under ANA's Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Implementation program area. Native Language Implementation grants are used to implement a preservation language project that will contribute to the achievement of the community's long-range language goal(s).

Standing Announcement for Unaccompanied Alien Children
WHAT: Shelter care services are provided for the period beginning when ORR accepts the child for placement and custody, and ends when the child is released, turns 18 years of age or a final disposition of the child’s immigration case results in removal of the child from the United States.

Standing Announcement for the Ethnic Community Self-help Program
WHAT: The Office of Refugee Resettlement invites the submission of applications, on a competitive level, to connect newcomer refugees and their communities with community resources. The objective of this program is to strengthen organized ethnic communities comprised and representative of refugee populations to ensure ongoing support and services to refugees after initial resettlement.

Social and Economic Development Strategies for Alaska -SEDS-AK Dec 05, 2008
WHAT: Focused on strengthening children, families and communities through community-based organizations, Tribes, and Village governments by promoting the goal of economic and social self-sufficiency for American Indians, Native Hawaiians, Alaskan Natives and other Native American Pacific Islanders, including American Samoa Natives.

Wilson/Fish Alternative Program
WHAT: Enable applicants to implement alternative projects under one of two categories in order to provide interim financial assistance, social services and case management to refugees in a manner that encourages self-sufficiency, reduces the likelihood of welfare dependency and fosters greater coordination among resettlement agencies and service providers in a community.

Family Preservation-Improving the Well-Being of Children Project Implementation
WHAT: To increase the well-being of children through family preservation activities; increase the percentage of children who are raised in a healthy environment free of child abuse and neglect; increase the percentage of youth and young adults who have the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about healthy relationships; increase the percentage of couples who are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to form and sustain healthy relationships and marriages; increase the percentage of children who are raised by two parents in a healthy family environment that is also free of domestic violence; increase the percentage of involvement by absentee parents in the lives of their children, increase public awareness in communities about the value of healthy families, relationships, marriages and responsible fatherhood; and encourage and support research on healthy families, relationships, marriages and healthy marriage education.

Health/Substance Abuse Treatment

Grants to Expand Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity in Targeted Areas of Need-Local Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care
WHAT: This program is designed to foster the development and utilization of local recovery-oriented systems of care to address gaps in treatment capacity by supporting person-centered and self-directed approaches for substance abuse (including alcohol and drug) treatment and recovery services in communities with serious drug problems. The purpose of this program is to expand the community’s ability to provide integrated and comprehensive community-based responses to a targeted, well-documented substance abuse treatment capacity problem and/or improve the quality and intensity of services.  The focus is on providing support for local organizations, including grass-roots, faith- and community-based treatment programs, and recovery community organizations, that can link services critical to the population of focus and deliver them in a manner consistent with the principles of recovery-oriented systems of care.

Drug Free Communities Support Program
WHAT:  This program has two major goals: Establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, private nonprofit agencies, and Federal, State, local, and tribal governments to support the efforts of community coalitions to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth.* Reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, among adults by addressing the factors in a community that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse.

Drug Free Communities Mentoring Program
WHAT:  The purpose of the DFC Mentoring Program is to provide grant funds to existing DFC grantees so that they may serve as Mentors to newly-formed and/or developing coalitions that have never received a DFC grant. Mentor grant funds should be used for the direct benefit of the Mentee Community/Coalition.  Through the support of DFC mentoring funds, Mentor Coalitions are expected to share their expertise with non-grantee coalitions (Mentee Community/Coalition) and enable them to successfully compete for a DFC grant.

State Implementation Grants for Integrated Community Systems
WHAT: The purpose of this initiative is to support statewide implementation of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) component of the Presidents New Freedom Initiative to create inclusive community based systems of services for children and youth with special health care needs.

Telehealth Network Grant Program
WHAT: The primary objective of the Telehealth Network Grant Program (TNGP)is to demonstrate how telehealth programs and networks can improve access to quality health care services in underserved rural and urban communities. The telehealth network grant awards are to support telehealth networks that demonstrate how these networks can be used to: (a) expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of health care services; (b) improve and expand the training of health care providers; and/or (c) expand and improve the quality of health information available to health care providers, patients, and their families.
WHO:  Faith-based and community based organizations are eligible under the TNGP, as well as American Indian and/or Alaska Native Tribal Organizations that meet all the eligibility requirements.
