Database Descriptions

DoD R&D Descriptive Summaries (RDDS)

Includes narrative information on Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs and Program Elements (PE Numbers) within the Department of Defense. The collection dates back to FY 95.

DOE R&D Project Summaries Database

Contains ongoing or recently completed Department of Energy research projects. Projects pertain to a range of R&D disciplines in basic energy science, physics, biology, fossil energy, environmental management, energy efficiency, renewable energy and technology.

EPA Science Inventory

Searches EPA science activities and scientific and technical products conducted by EPA and through EPA-funded assistance agreements. Science Inventory records provide descriptions of the activity or product, contact information, and links to available printed material or Web sites.

NASA Research Task Book

Includes research projects supported by NASA's Advanced Capabilities Division (ACD) and research projects within the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI). Information includes project descriptions, annual research results, research impacts, and a listing of publications resulting from this NASA-funded research, from FY2004 to present.

NIH CRISP Database - Current and Historical Awards

Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP) is a searchable database of federally-funded biomedical research projects conducted at universities, hospitals, and other research institutions that are funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other government agencies.

NSF Award Abstracts Database

Information about research projects that NSF has funded since 1989 can be found by searching the Award Abstracts Database. The information includes abstracts that describe the research, and names of principal investigators and their institutions. The database includes both completed and in-process research.

SBA Technology Resources Network (Tech-Net)

Information containing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awards, Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards. It is facilitates those seeking small business partners, small business contractors and subcontractors, leading edge technology research, research partners (small businesses, universities, federal labs and non-profit organizations), manufacturing centers and investment opportunities.

Transportation Research in Progress

Includes current or recently completed transportation research projects. Most of the RiP records are projects funded by Federal and State Departments of Transportation. University transportation research is also included. The Transportation Research Board (TRB), administered as part of the National Academies, hosts and maintains the database.

USDA Current Research Information System (CRIS)

CRIS is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) documentation and reporting system for ongoing and recently completed research projects in agriculture, food and nutrition, and forestry. Projects are conducted or sponsored by USDA research agencies, state agricultural experiment stations, the state land-grant university system, other cooperating state institutions, and participants in a number of CSREES-administered grant programs.
