• Do I need a credit card for Vimeo Plus?

  Yes, we gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

• What happens to my old account when I upgrade?

  Everything will stay exactly the same except you will have the added benefits and features of Vimeo Plus. You will receive 5GB of uploading space per week which will reset each week on the day you become a Plus member. You will also see a fancy new badge next to your portrait.

• Can I give Vimeo Plus to a friend?

  Absolutely! Vimeo Plus is a great gift for all video makers. To purchase a Plus account for a friend, visit our our store and click "Purchase Plus for a friend."

• What happens to my account if I don't renew my Plus membership?

  If you do not renew your membership, your account will revert to the feature set available to non-Plus Vimeo members. You will not lose any videos or channels/groups/albums that you created during your Plus membership. No need to worry.

• If I'm not happy with Plus, can I get a refund?

  We will happily process refunds within 30 days of purchase. Review our refund policy.

• So now that I am paying, can I do anything I want?

  No. All Vimeo Plus members must still abide by our uploading guidelines. You are held to the same standard as free account users.

• How do I customize the embed player with all the fancy new options?

  Go to the video settings of any of your video pages, select the 'Embedding' tab and customize the player as you like. There is a helpful sidebar that explains the different customization options. Here are some examples.

• What happens if I change the custom embed options of a video? Does that affect videos that are currently embedded?

  Yes, anytime you change the custom embed options for a particular video, that will retroactively change the embed settings where ever that specific video is currently embedded. This is a great way to point people to your latest videos or your website.

• What framerate is HD video encoded in?

  HD videos are encoded up to 25 frames per second. Due to technical limitations, we have found that 25fps is the optimal frame rate for optimal viewing for the majority of our users, but we won't be satisfied until we reach 30fps, and neither will you :) Stay tuned…

• Can I embed my HD video outside of Vimeo?

  Absolutely. With Vimeo Plus you can purchase embed plays for your HD videos so you can embed them in pristine HD quality anywhere on the web!

• Can I choose which sites can embed my video in HD?

  Absolutely. To set the HD domain level settings, visit the 'embedding' settings of any of your HD videos and specify which sites have permission to embed in HD.

• I purchased HD embed plays, are all my HD videos now embeddable in HD?

  Yes.

• What happens to all my HD videos that are already embedded on other websites?

  Those videos will now be playable in HD.

• I bought HD embed plays, but don't want to waste them all. Can I choose which HD videos are embeddable in HD?

  Yes, to manage your HD embed plays, visit the settings page on any HD video and click on the 'Embedding' tab. At the top of the page, uncheck "Allow people to embed this video in HD". On this same page, there is a sidebar that says "Manage HD embedding." Click this to manage HD embedding for all of your HD videos.

• What happens when my HD embed plays run out?

  When you have 100 plays left in your HD embed play package, you will receive a notification email from Vimeo saying your HD embed plays are coming to an end. If you forget (or choose not to purchase more plays), any embedded HD videos will revert to standard definition. As soon as you purchase more plays, those videos will become HD again. • What are my options for purchasing additional HD embedded plays?

  • $9.95 for 1,000 HD embedded plays.
  • $49.95 for 10,000 HD embedded plays.
  • $199.95 for 100,000 HD embedded plays.

• What is considered a 'play' for HD embed play packages?

  A 'play' is measured whenever someone first clicks the play button on an embedded video.

• I only want people to see my videos on my site, is this possible?

  Yes. If you want to be the only person with the ability to embed your videos, you can use domain-level privacy. To set it up, go to any video settings page and click the 'Privacy' tab, then choose the 'Only on approved sites' option under 'Who can embed this video?' Add the domain names for sites on which you want to allow your video to be embedded.

• Is it possible for my video to not show up on Vimeo?

  You may choose to hide any of your videos on Vimeo.com in the video settings under 'privacy'. When you click 'do not show on Vimeo.com' that video will not appear anywhere on Vimeo, it will not be searchable via Google or any other online search, and it will only appear on other sites you embed it on. However, you will always have access to that video in your collection of videos on Vimeo.

• Can I convert my old videos to Plus SD or HD when I am a Plus member?

  To convert older videos to the higher quality SD conversion, or videos that should be HD (your original must be at least 1280 x 720 pixels), go to 'replace' in the video settings and click the 'Make Plus SD' or 'Make HD' button.

• If I replace my current videos, will the video be converted to the higher-quality conversion available to Plus members?

  Yes, if you replace one of your current videos with a newer version, it will be converted to the higher quality conversion available to Plus members. Please remember that using the 'replace' function will still use your weekly quota unless you replace within the same quota week you uploaded it.

• Will you go back and convert all my older videos to the higher quality conversion?

  We're sorry, but we do not have the resources to re-process the back catalog of every Plus user. Doing so would create an unacceptably long conversion queue for all users of Vimeo.
