The Center for Rural Life and Economic Development was established through funds
from the USDA Rural Business Cooperative Service in 1997. The center was
established to serve as a catalyst for the"Communiversity" concept to assist in
Community and economic development in five Southwest Mississippi Counties:
Adams, Claiborne, Franklin, Jefferson, and Wilkinson.
The center coordinates outreach, community, and economic development projects
and activities under the general guidance of Institutional Planning and Research
