Update on Multistate Extension and Integrated (AREERA 105 and 204) Requirements and Procedures for Waiver Requests

The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) is providing detailed procedures for requesting waivers for the multistate extension and integrated requirements provided under the Hatch and Smith-Lever Acts as amended by sections 105 and 204 of the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998 (AREERA). In addition, CSREES is providing an updated timeline for the implementation of the revised Administrative Guidance for Multistate Extension Activities and Integrated Research and Extension Activities. Please note that CSREES anticipates that there will be another opportunity for public comment (30 days) on the proposed revised Administrative Guidance which will incorporate the comments received in 2008. It is anticipated that this document will be available for final comment by March 16, 2009, and that the final revised Administrative Guidance will apply to FY 2009. Additional information is available.
