ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO ANNOUNCE


NEW COALITION TO REDUCE YOUTH VIOLENCE





In Aftermath of Jonesboro Tragedy,


United Way is First Organization to Take on New Challenges





	Attorney General Janet Reno will announce a new coalition of
national service organizations to work in local communities to
reduce youth violence.  The "Coalition for America's Children" 
will meet five new challenges articulated by Reno.  The challenges
will address such issues as truancy, gun violence and substance
abuse.




	The Coalition is forming in the wake of the tragedy in
Jonesboro in continuing national concern about youth violence. 
United Way of America is the first organization to take on these
challenges.  Her announcement will take place at the group's
Community Leaders' Conference.
