Before, during and after a pandemic influenza outbreak, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has a responsibility to ensure the education, planning and preparedness for essential public health services while providing for the emergency medical needs of the population. The Center for Emergency Preparedness (CEP) coordinates pandemic response activities, in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
