Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program Training and Technical Assistance Support

The Office of Justice Programs' The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), in cooperation with the Department of Justice's (DOJ's) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, seeks a provider to support the G.R.E.A.T. Program through training, technical assistance, and information dissemination support. The Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program (42 U.S.C. ยง 13921) is a school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum focusing on providing life skills to students to help them avoid engaging in delinquent behavior and violence to solve problems. The program's primary objective is prevention and is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership. Applicants are limited to for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations, faith-based and community organizations, institutions of higher education, and consortiums with demonstrated experience in providing national- and local-level training and technical assistance and in providing logistical support to large scale initiatives.

Deadline: All applications are due on January 18, 2007.
