December 8, 2006   Grants.gov Record Submission High!
Grants.gov successfully processed 2,099 NIH submissions on Friday, December 1, 2006, a major closing day for NIH. There was a total of 3,969 submissions for NIH alone during the week of November 27 to December 1, 2006, a new peak for Grants.gov. The overall total for the week was 6,403 submissions. Grants.gov was pleased that this major closing went smoothly and will strive to continue in this direction.


November 15, 2006   System Integrator Award
In collaboration with the Grants.gov Program Management Office, the Department of the Interior/GovWorks awarded a hybrid time-and-materials/fixed-price performance-based task order on September 7, 2006 for "Grants.gov System Integration Services" to Anteon Corporation. The task order was awarded utilizing a NITAAC CIO-SP2i ID/IQ contract. The task order has a one-year base period and four one-year optional periods with a five-year potential not-to-exceed amount of $18,879,818.52. The Base Period has a potential not-to-exceed amount of $4,544,611.70. Transition of the Grants.gov system from the current contractor to Anteon is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2006. Overall, Anteon clearly demonstrated that their approach will allow Grants.gov to meet its stated long-term goals and that it is the best value to the government. Grants.gov is excited about the direction of this award and will continue to keep you informed as efforts develop.


October 31, 2006   October 31, 2006 Marks the Anniversary of the First Grant Application Package Posting!
The Department of Education posted the first grant application on Grants.gov three years ago on October 31, 2003. Since then, Grants.gov has processed over 90,000 applications. We are continuing to enhance the service we provide to the grant community!
