Satellite Services Division GOES Satellite Browse Server. Real time GOES-10 and GOES-12 browse files; fully gridded .GIF images, MPEG loops and historical image files.

NOAA/NESDIS Operational Significant Event Imagery (OSEI) provides up-to-date imagery of significant and unusual events such as major storms, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, dust storms and similar occurrences. Imagery covers the western hemisphere as well other parts of the world.

Historical GOES Browse Server. On-line access to 5+ years of daily Infrared and Visible GOES imagery. GOES-7, -8, -9, -10, -12 images from approximately 1800 UTC daily, full disk and North American sectors available.

National Weather Service Alaska Region (Anchorage) real time imagery covering Alaska, Bering Sea and portions of the Arctic and North Pacific Oceans.

National Climatic Data Center [NCDC] online image collection. Hurricanes, extra-tropical storms, and other phenomena observed from NOAA polar orbiters, GOES and DMSP satellites. Black & white, colorized, visible -IR -water vapor channels, GIFs and MPEG loops.

Satellite operational Sea Surface Temperature analyses from the Product Systems Branch.

Daily Total Ozone utilizing the NOAA-11 SBUV operational data from the Soundings Implementation Branch.

EMWIN (Emergency Managers Weather Information Network) is a system to distribute basic text and graphic weather information. The content is focused on the United States; international weather is not distributed except for limited coverage on graphics which extend beyond the U.S. borders. Distribution is via GOES-8 and GOES-10 WEFAX broadcast, internet and VHF radio.

NOAAPORT: Satellite distribution of NOAA environmental data, products, and information (GOES imagery, NWS, Watches/Warnings/Advisories). Requires special terminals and software.

EROS Data Center [EDC] "Special Project Images" of worldwide geological features, weather, cities, etc. Imagery from various sensors aboard Landsat, NOAA AVHRR, NASA Shuttle missions, etc. Black and white, colorized, down--loadable files as well as hard copy which can be ordered from EDC.

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for monitoring vegetation conditions in crop areas. Provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture/National Agricultural Statistics Service.

AMERICAS, WESTERN ATLANTIC, EASTERN PACIFIC GOES-10 and GOES-12 imagery. Ungridded and gridded full disc, gridded sectors from the University of Hawaii/NASA geostationary weather satellite (FTP) data download site.

GLOBAL IMAGERY GOES-10, GOES-12, METEOSAT and GMS satellites from NASA/Marshall Spaceflight Center. Java applet can zoom/enlarge imagery over any point, and construct animated (MPEG) loop of enlarged sector.

CANADA: GOES-12 enlarged sectors over the Great Lakes and Canadian Arctic/sub-Arctic waters, from the Canadian Ice Service. Multi-channel composites, daytime only. GOES-10/-12 imagery (including mpegs) remapped for eastern and western Canada from the Canadian Meteorological Centre.

ASIA, WESTERN PACIFIC GMS and FY-2 imagery. FY-2 imagery has been reported to be intermittent September through December 1998. Ungridded and gridded full disc, gridded sectors from the University of Hawaii/NASA geostationary weather satellite data download site.

NEW ZEALAND: Gridded, colorized NOAA polar orbiter HRPT imagery over New Zealand and surrounding waters. A five-day archive of past imagery is kept on line. Provided by the Landcare Research.

SOUTHEAST ASIA GMS and NOAA satellite imagery from Meteorological Service Singapore. Regional GMS imagery centered on Hong Kong from the Hong Kong Observatory.

EUROPE Colorized high resolution HRPT imagery from the NOAA polar orbiters, produced by the Satellite Department, Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMU). A five-day archive of imagery is kept on line. Site also has METEOSAT WEFAX imagery.

TURKEY/NEAR EAST HRPT Imagery from Tubitak Bilten, the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.

METEOSAT IMAGERY Meteosat Imagery from Meteo France, processed every 6 hours (00, 06, 12, 1800 UTC). METEOSAT WEFAX imagery received and processed at the University of Nottingham, UK.

Earth Watching ESA/ESRIN project to quickly provide imagery and other satellite data during natural and man-made disasters. Imagery is frequently updated as significant events occur.

RUSSIA The "SPUTNIK" server, with information on Russian geostationary and polar orbiting satellites including GOMS, METEOR, OKEAN and RESURS. GOMS near - real time was reported to have stopped in August 1998. The newest METEOR failed in early 2003.

Archive of TBUS bulletins maintained at University of Tokyo, with bulletins since 1983. This is an anonymous FTP site. Bulletins are in the subdirectory /pub/TBUS. These are further categorized in subdirectories by year and month.

The Earth Observing System (EOS) Data Information System provides uniform access to multiple data centers for locating interdisciplinary data. This includes the global 1-km AVHRR land data sets, and access to the NOAA/NESDIS Satellite Active Archive, among others.
