The Digital Flora of Texas project was initiated by a proposal submitted to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Advanced Research Program in August of 1999.  Work started in January of 2000 and informatics systems developed collaborating Texas institutions are listed below:

    Herbarium Specimen Data (off line)
    Vascular Plant Images
    Bibliographic References
    Checklists of Texas Vascular Plants
Texas Vascular Plants - Identification and Description  (off line)

The project has been dorment since 2002 due to lack of funding, although cooperation among faculty and students at the Texas A&M Center for the Study of Digital Libraries and Texas A&M herbaria is allowing continued function of established systems and some data updates, at least for the short term.
