FY-2004 FRPP Unfunded
Easement Application Information
March 17, 2004 through May 3, 2004
The following maps display information on unfunded Farm and Ranch Lands
Protection Program (FRPP) easement
applications from March 17, 2004, through May 3, 2004. This application
period is the time from when the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
published a Request for Proposals (RFP) in the Federal Register to the
deadline for proposal submission.
These maps give a "snapshot" in time and do not reflect the true demand for
the FRPP funds in 2004; demand far exceeded what these maps represent.
Due to the limited amount of Federal funds available and the timing of the
RFP, many State and local farmland protection organizations limited their
request for Federal funds in 2004.
The program helps farmers and ranchers keep their land in agriculture.
FRPP provides matching funds to State, Tribal, or local governments and
non-governmental organizations with existing farmland protection programs to
purchase conservation easements. Click on
each map's data link for detail information.
