Public Companies

  • Annual Reports of Pittsburgh Public Companies
    A collection of print and microfiche annual reports for public companies in the Pittsburgh region. Some of these reports date as early as the 1930's, however the bulk of the reports date from the 1970's and 1980's to the present.
  • EDGAR, Corporate Filings with the SEC
    Includes 1994-current 10-K's and 10-Q's, (annual and quarterly filings) of publicly-traded companies. Since annual reports to investors (except in the case of investment companies) are not required by law to be filed with the SEC, most are not listed. However, some companies have volunteered their annual reports to the SEC.
  • IPO Central
    Jointly maintained by Hoover's and the SEC's EDGAR Online provides a detailed financial profile on companies that have registered with the SEC to go public.
  • American Stock Exchange
    The American Stock Exchange (AMEX) includes a wide variety of listed equities, an extensive options market and an unrivaled listing of more than 100 exchange traded funds (ETFs), the securities category pioneered by the AMEX. A company description, quote and fundamentals are available for all listed companies.
  • NASDAQ Stock Market
    NASDAQ, the largest U.S. electronic stock market with approximately 3,300 companies, lists more companies and, on average, trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market. Listed companies are leaders across all areas of business including technology, retail, communications, financial services, transportation, media and biotechnology. Includes quotes, charts, news, financials.
  • New York Stock Exchange
    The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is the largest equities marketplace in the world, home to some 2,800 U.S. companies that are a cross-section of large, midsize and small capitalization companies and nearly 460 non-U.S. companies. Has a profile, data, news and SEC filings for listed companies.
  • Pink Sheets Electronic Quotation Service
    and OTC Bulletin Board
    Provide quotations for securities not listed on the NYSE, AMEX or Nasdaq, including national, regional and foreign equity issues, warrants, units, ADRs and DPPs. Pink Sheets has quotes, news, charts, financials and corporate information; OTC Bulletin Board has the same for those companies registered with the SEC.
  • Investing in Bonds
    Summarizes basic tips in investing in corporate and government bonds. A selected lists of bond dealers in included. Yesterday's prices on "municipal bonds which trade four or more times on the prior day are included in each daily report, which will typically include about 1000 issues out of 1.4 million issues which are outstanding."
  • Treasury Direct
    The government financial services website that lets you buy and redeem securities directly from the U.S. Department of the Treasury in paperless electronic form. Also contains extensive information on T-bills and U.S. Savings Bonds.
