Third IABIN Council Meeting
CHM-IABIN joint meeting on
biodiversity information networking in the Americas
and
the third IABIN Council meeting
will be held in Cancun, Mexico, August 12-14, 2003. The meeting will serve also as the CHM Regional Meeting for Latin America and the Caribbean. The Focal Points for the CHM and IABIN will participate, and we also expect the participation of GBIF Node Managers from the Americas, as well as that of representatives of other NGOs, academic institutions, and the private sector.
The purpose of the meeting will be to harmonize the visions of the initiatives. The agenda and official invitation will be sent out soon via this listserv and will be posted at www.IABIN.net and at the "agenda URL" below.

This will be a very important meeting for IABIN, as
the proposal to the GEF for IABIN implementation, outline a plan of action will be discussed and approved,
and new IEC members elected.
GBIF presentations in the meeting will be given by Christoph Häuser and Hannu Saarenmaa.
