ASTM Bicycle Standard Revised to Provide Consumer Education

ASTM Light Sport Aircraft Committee Meeting in Germany

Recently revised ASTM F2043, Classification for Bicycle Usage, is now a useful tool for consumers purchasing bikes. The standard presents a naming scheme and a corresponding set of icons for five different intended bicycle uses, from "adult supervision required" to "extreme off-road riding." In addition to the revised F2043, Subcommittee F08.10 on Bicycles is currently developing a proposed new standard, WK22294, Specification for Child Riding Trailer Cycles. More.

ASTM and ASC Collaborate on Standard for New Adhesives CAD Symbol

A new symbol that engineers can use to represent adhesives in computer-aided design (CAD) drawing is the result of a collaborative effort between ASTM and the Adhesive and Sealant Council. ASTM D7447, Practice for Symbolizing Adhesive Applications, is under the jurisdiction of ASTM International Committee D14 on Adhesives. More.

2009 ASTM Advantage Award

Papers are now being accepted for the 2009 ASTM International Advantage Award. With cash prizes of up to $15,000, the Advantage Award is a paper competition for case studies that show the benefits of using ASTM International standards. The submission deadline is June 1.
