Step 1: Update Contact Information
If your email, address, or other contact information has changed, visit a local USDA Service Center to update your information. The USDA employee at the Service Center will coordinate the changes to your record in SCIMS. The new information will be available to the TechReg Registry on the day following of the record change.
You can find the location and contact information for a Service Center near you at http://offices.sc.egov.usda.gov/locator/app.
Step 2: Login to TechReg
Login to TechReg at http://techreg.sc.egov.usda.gov/. Look for the Login link at the top of the left navigation area.
You should have received a reminder of your eAuthentication login in the certification renewal notification email.
USDA eAuthentication accounts are disabled after 6 months of inactivity. If you have not used your eAuthentication account for 6 months or more and need to have your account enabled or if you don't have a password please contact: eAuthHelpDesk@ftc.usda.gov.
(If you have lost your login or password, this is the place to start.)
Step 3: Complete TechReg Sections |
Complete or update any applicable sections of profile. Take note of any new training requirements in the categories you are selecting. For instance, Conservation Planning Modules 1 – 5 are now basic requirements for all categories. Sign the agreement by clicking 'Submit Renewal' under Section J when finished. |
Step 4: Become Recertified
A message will be transmitted to each state in which the TSP has applied. NRCS personnel in those state(s) have up to 60 days to review your application and verify your credentials. You should be contacted if discrepancies are noted. When the review is completed and your application is found to meet requirements, the designated State Conservationist will certify your application by electronically countersigning the certification agreement. Once certified by NRCS, TSPs will be placed on an “approved list” in TechReg to provide specific technical services in those specific States.
Step 5: Provide Services
Producers can search TechReg to find certified TSPs. Once selected and hired by the producer, the TSPs can provide the technical services they are certified to perform. TSPs can also check individual state web pages for potential business opportunities. Please contact the TSP State Coordinator for specific information.
