2002 Census Publications
2002 Census of Agriculture Downloadable Application

This application is designed to provide quick access to the 2002 Census data. It has the same basic functionality as the Internet version called Quick Stats but this application, once downloaded, can be run from your computer's local drive or a network.  This will normally produce an increase in performance over Quick Stats which runs over the Internet.

The Downloadable Application requires Windows 98 or later operating system and approximately 225 MB of disk space.

First, download the compressed application from the Downloadable Application link below.
Second, uncompress the downloaded file putting all the files into one directory.
Third, launch or execute agcen2002.exe from the downloaded directory.

The compressed Downloadable Application is 38 MB.  It is recommended to only download this file if you have a high speed Internet connection.

Downloadable Application version 1.2

This is version 1.2 of the downloadable cd application.  Version 1.2 corrected a minor problem when sorting columns from the query.  Improvements to application version 1.0 include finalized text for all appendices and the index. The current version number of the application being used can be found by clicking on agcen2002.exe and looking at the main title bar of the program.

The data resulting from your queries may be exported as a comma-separated value file (csv) and imported into a spreadsheet or other software. The data may also be exported for use with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping software to create maps and perform spatial analysis of the data.

Even though the data for each census table is stored in ".DBF" format (Microsoft Visual Foxpro), which may offer the opportunity to import the data into other software, it is more advisable to use the csv export option mentioned above. The export provides identity to the data that can only be obtained by linking multiple files.
