Water Quality and Wetland Function

The Northern Plains and Mountains Regional Water Program is working to integrate research, education and extension programs to address high priority water issues. The program strives to establish a collaborative, structured process which develops and shares new and existing water resource practices and management techniques throughout the region and nationally.

The program facilitates regional and national coordination and leveraging of resources which make research, education and extension resources of the Land Grant University system more accessible at the local level.  Program members support collaborative partnerships and leveraged funding with numerous federal, regional, state, and local organizations with similar goals related to water resources. Regional objectives engage regional issues such as Watershed Monitoring and Management, Agricultural Water Conservation and Protection, Drinking Water - Human and Livestock Health, and BMP Development, Training and Assessment.
