Obtaining a USDA eAuthentication Account

Welcome Guest

Why do I need a USDA eAuthentication Account?

USDA eAuthentication (Level 2) accounts allow you to do business with the government online. They provide access to authenticated sites (those that require passwords) that track contracts, programs, and services that involve you as a customer or technical service provider.

Where do I begin?

  1. Complete your online application for a USDA eAuthentication Level 2 account at: http://www.eauth.egov.usda.gov/eauthCreateAccount.html

  2. Respond to the Confirmation email within 7 days.

  3. Visit a local USDA Service Center office in person. Please bring official Government Photo ID (State driver’s license or US passport to verify your identity). Note: Your first and last name in your eAuthentication Account record MUST match the name on your Photo ID.

  4. The Service Center employee (LRA) will activate your account.

  5. Ask the LRA to link your SCIMS Customer Database record to your eAuthentication account.

What is valid identification?

Government provided photo identification, such as a valid state driver's license or a passport.

Check the online help for more detailed information on the application process.

What do USDA Service Centers need to know to support the TechReg Process?
