A 15-hour short course on voluntary water monitoring by local citizens was delivered in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with the support of USDA-CSREES funds in 1999-2000. The course includes eight hours of classroom training and seven hours in the field doing physical, biological, and chemical assessments of surface waters.
