• based on PubMed Central (PMC), the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) free online digital archive of full-text, peer reviewed research publications
• supported by an alliance of UK biomedical research funders
• developed by a consortium in collaboration with the UK research community

We also provide:

• a manuscript submission system for Grantees funded by any of the UKPMC Funders Group, to deposit papers that have been accepted in a peer-reviewed journal
• an OAI (Open Archives Initiative) service that supplies XML of the full-text of Open Access Articles
