Climate Change in the USA
Climate Change in the USAThe map shows that the second half of the 20th Century has been cooler than the first half over most of the eastern USA and warmer in the west. These results indicate that a global temperature increase is not necessarily reflected in a temperature increase in all regions. Global Surface Temperature in the second half of the 20th Century has been about 0.5° F warmer than the first half century. Click map to enlarge

Another Analysis...
Climate Change Climatologist Jim Angel looks at the topic of Climate Change and how Illinois fits into the overall U.S. trend. Using time series plots for analysis, he takes a look at the data for Illinois over the last few decades. The benchmark sites that supply reliable, long-term records of temperature and precipitation are also listed. Each site's data is supplied as well.

Take a look on the Climate Change page of the State Climatologist. Time series information for temperature and precipitation are provided for the state of Illinois and The United States.
