Pandemic Influenza

Pandemic influenza is flu that causes a global outbreak, or pandemic, of serious illness that spreads easily from person to person.  Currently, there is no influenza pandemic.

  Current WHO Pandemic Status:  PHASE 3
Human infections with a new subtype, but no human-to-human spread, or at most rare instances of spread to a close contact
