Technical Support Document for the Clear Skies Act 2003 - Air Quality Modeling Analyses (PDF 1.6MB) - This document describes the procedures and results of the air quality modeling analyses used to quantify the impacts and benefits of the Clear Skies Act (CSA) of 2003. The air quality model applications include episodic regional scale ozone modeling for the Eastern U.S. and annual particulate matter (PM), visibility, and deposition modeling on a continental scale covering the 48 contiguous States. The document includes a description of the ozone and PM modeling systems, the time periods modeled, the Base Year model performance evaluations, and the results of the future Base Case and Control Case model simulations.

Appendix A (PDF 173KB) - Annual Total Emissions Summaries and EGU Emissions Summaries.

Appendix B (PDF 188KB) - 8-Hour Ozone Design Values for 1999-2001 and Future Year Predicted Design Values for 2010 and 2020 Base and Control Cases.

Appendix C (PDF 1.7MB) - 8-Hour Ozone Nonattainment Maps and Design Value Range Maps.

Appendix D (PDF 105KB) - IMPROVE Monitoring Sites used in the REMSAD Model Performance Evaluation.

Appendix E (PDF 436KB) - Speciated Modeled Attainment Test (SMAT) Documentation.

Appendix F (PDF 135KB) - Annual Average PM2.5 Design Values for 1999-2001 and Future Year Predicted Design Values for 2010 and 2020 Base and Control Cases.

Appendix G (PDF 1.6MB) - Annual Average PM2.5 Nonattainment Maps and Design Value Ranges Maps.

Appendix H (PDF 132KB) - Projected Visibility Summaries for 20% Best and 20% Worst Days at IMPROVE Monitoring Sites.
