Improve access to Community Development Process facilitation and training materials for building local capacity for watershed management.

Collaborate in developing regional approaches of expanding and sharing Community Development materials related to watershed management.

Achieve regional implementation of a Community Development facilitated process for local watershed management.

The Heartland Regional Water Quality Coordination Initiative coordinates research-based information, education and extension resources of the land-grant universities as related to water quality, and the management of agricultural nonpoint source pollutants. Through strengthening of multi-state and interagency partnerships, the Heartland Initiative seeks to make these resources more accessible to federal, state and local water quality improvement efforts in EPA Region 7.
