Programs
Environmental stewardship within production agriculture can contribute to significant improvements in water quality. Since the mid-1980’s Iowa State University Agronomy Extension has participated in many water quality and watershed special projects. Learn more about Agronomy Extension Water Quality programs.
Regional Water Coordination Initiative
The Heartland Regional Water Coordination Initiative is a partnership of Iowa State University, Kansas State University, the University of Missouri, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the USDA Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service and U S EPA Region 7.
The Heartland Initiative creates and strengthens multi-state, multi-institutional partnerships and collaboration to make research, education and extension resources of the land grant universities more accessible to federal, state and local efforts on regional priority water issues.
