Description: On March 10 of this year, 240 industrialists and researchers from both private and public sectors gathered for three and a half days in Alexandria, Louisiana, for intensive discussions aimed at increasing utilization of small hardwoods. The symposium, "Utilization of Hardwoods Growing on Southern Pine Sites", was jointly sponsored by the Southern Forest Experiment Station, U. S. Forest Service, and the Mid-South Section of the Forest Products Research Society.
