Description: Much research has been done in Asia and the Pacific that might help Pacific Island countries produce more biomass and better manage their natural resources. National forestry research institutes throughout the region have examined many important aspects of forestry. Not all research findings are directly transferable between countries, but research methods and results can help guide research and policy decisions. Trends in forestry research priorities over the previous decade are examined. National research findings are identified that may affect Pacific Island forestry. Research not affected by environmental conditions are included, and several mechanisms for accessing this information are examined.
