Timothy T. Ward

Timothy T. Ward was appointed to his current position in April 2007. Before that, he had served in a dual capacity as the OTS's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer since January 2002. His current responsibilities include overseeing examinations, supervision, consumer affairs and protection, policy, trust activities, holding company and conglomerate supervision, economic analysis and research, applications, information technology risk, monitoring and international affairs for the OTS.

Ward began a long career in public service when he joined the staff of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta in 1983. With the passage of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989, he was transferred to the OTS. He moved to OTS headquarters in Washington, D.C., in 1998 to coordinate the regional information systems functions and he became Chief Information Officer in September 2000.

Ward has a wide range of experience in savings association regulation including examination, supervision, financial analysis, policy development, capital markets, interest rate risk management, information systems management, software development and training, applied financial research, strategic planning and financial operations management. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance from Auburn University in December 1982.
