| Laboratory Metrology News New Work Aid: Calibration Certificate Evaluation State Metrologists have a new checklist form available on the WMD Laboratory Metrology website that may be used to evaluate compliance of calibraiton certificates to Seciton 5.10 of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (NIST HB 143:2007) criteria. Laboratory measurements are reported to customers by test report or a calibration certificate. Completely implementing the criteria ensures that all the infomation needed by the customer is readily available. Further, it ensures that reports provide information that is necessary for the interpretation of the test or calibration results are included. Metrologist can use this work aid in several ways to evaluate calibration certificates during normal laboratory activities: 1) External Calibration Service Suppliers - accredited providers are required to comply with Section 5.10; 2) Internal Quality and Technical Audits - to make sure your certificates comply in each measurement parameter that is on your scope; and 3) Proficiency Test, Interlaboratory Comparison (PT/ILC) Calibration Report Evaluation - if laboratories complete Item 2 and complete corrective action, there should be no PT/ILC failures for this category! The new Certificate Review Template resource is available here in WORD and PDF versions. Template Round Robin Analysis File A NEW version of the template round robin file is now available for use at the Regional Measurement Assurance Program meetings. It includes a checklist for preparing a draft report and additional guidance on selecting reference values when performing the analysis. Please submit any comments or questions as noted in the file. See Proficiency Testing Tools.
