The map citation reads: Original engraving of over 100 American Cities and Scenes, National Buildings, executed in Oil Color, Printing on Bristol Board, black, gold, & silver Border. Price 25 cents each Picture An earlier edition of this same map is identical but with the addition of soldiers added to the left and right of the main map, illustrating Hardee's fighting tactics. The largest of the 5 maps is the Complete Map of the Rail Roads, showing the eastern United States with all the current and projected railroads. It was typical of Magnus to incorporate several separate maps around a main map. During the Civil War Charles Magnus was one of the few printers who were allowed access to camps, battle grounds, and areas of general interest to map makers. Mangus was known for his high quality details and design but buyers thought poorly of the low quality papers he would use for the printing.
