Research Interests:
-
Information theory based DNA binding site models;
- Microbial genomic diversity and evolution, comparative genomics;
- Environmental genomics of bacteria and phages;
- Evolutionary analysis of genes, proteins or genomes;
- Z curve based genomic analysis.
Current Research:
-
T7-like promoter models, T7 islands;
- Evolution of T7-like phages and their transcription systems;
- Other T7-like promoter bearing regions in microbial genomes;
- Information theory based models for SD and RNase III recognition
sites in the T7 group of phages and their host genomes;
- Development and refinement of information theory based
Fur binding site models, and comparative analysis of different Fur models;
- Information theory based transcription factor binding site models.
Future Research:
I am looking for a position to continue my current work. I
am strongly interested in:
- Information theory analysis of T7-like promoter models and RBS models;
- T7-like promoters in microbial genomes;
- Function and diversity of T7 islands;
- Genome sequencing and analysis of T7 group phages;
- Fur and other transcription factor binding site models.
