Media & Communications and Production Services

Part of the Community, Education, Government & Public Affairs Directorate, the Media & Communications Office provides information about Brookhaven National Laboratory to internal and external audiences through numerous communications vehicles. Our staff promotes Brookhaven’s international reputation as a center for scientific excellence and innovation. We also publicize information about Laboratory events, policies and procedures.

News Releases

Media and Communications prepares all of the news releases on the Laboratory’s science discoveries, announcements, events, and awards. Releases from 1995 to the present are archived on this website and are searchable by keyword. Laboratory news releases are available in syndicated RSS format.

Publications

We publish the Laboratory’s weekly newspaper, The Bulletin; the biweekly web-based Monday Memo, which contains news from the Laboratory Director and administrators, and is e-mailed to the internal Lab community; Discover Brookhaven, a periodical magazine showcasing the Laboratory’s scientific research and discoveries; Take 5, a monthly video magazine; and various brochures and fact sheets. Brochures and fact sheets are available online.

Photography and Graphic Design

Media and Communications provides photography, video, and graphic design for the Laboratory via the Production Services group. To place an order for these services, click here. We also maintain WBNL, which features selected Brookhaven videos available in a streaming media format.

Science Communication Internship

Through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship program, the Media & Communications Office offers year-round internships for undergraduate students interested in science writing and communication. You can find more information here.
