Just a quick update on the status of the CAREWare programming shop. As you know, the CAREWare crew was based in New Orleans. All the staff got out, along with a backup tape of all their work! The shop is reconstituting itself temporarily in Texas, where lead programmer Jeff Murray's family lives. They are renting office space (and apartments) and we should have the telephone helpdesk back up and running toward the end of next week. I'll send out a message as soon as we get the phone line set up and active, probably around Thursday, Sept. 8th.
The programmers will also have some new computers sometime next week, so I know that once they get set up and running, we are looking to release a new build which will be posted on the CAREWare website. We'll keep you up to date through this Listserv and on the website itself (http://hab.hrsa.gov/careware).
Thank you for your patience during this extraordinary period. I know a number of you are working to get the new version up and running, and are in need of technical support. Nature's timing is not always great.
