Cancer Registries and Other Population-based Resources
This compilation of resources provides links to information on cancer statistics, such
as incidence, mortality, and the prevalence of certain risk factors. It complements NCI's
list of pharmacoepidemiology resources and is intended for researchers
who wish to examine etiological or epidemiologic aspects of cancer in relation to
pharmaceutical agents use and examine the potential carcinogenic or cancer preventing
properties of certain pharmaceuticals.
These resources provide information about sources of national and statewide cancer
statistics. It may be possible to link these statistics to national- or state-specific
pharmacological databases.
These resources, for either a specific cancer site or for multiple sites, provide
information about various cancer consortia. Cancer consortia typically have pooled
databases which can potentially be linked to databases about drug use.
