National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES)

Description

NHANES is a national database of health information created and managed by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the U.S. Centers for Disease Prevention and Control. The NCHS is the nation's principle health statistics agency, and the cross-sectional NHANES is conducted approximately once per decade to provide information for health policy and programs. Pharmacoepidemiologic data available from NHANES includes drug etiology, drug utilization, and population cancer burden. Access to NHANES data is free after NCHS publication.
